On December 12, the 2021 China-Africa Innovation Cooperation Conference,co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Hubei Provincial People's Government, opened in Wuhan, Hubei Province. With the theme of "New Chapter of Innovation Cooperation, Winning the Future Hand in Hand", the conference deeply implements the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speech at the opening ceremony of the 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, focusing on practicing the "Belt and Road" initiative and promoting the building of China-Africa Destiny Community. Mr. Chen Tong, Chairman of Hubei International Economic Cooperation, and Mr. Zou Cong, Head of International Business, attended the meeting.

In the presence of Minister of Science and Technology Wang Zhigang, Secretary of Hubei Provincial Party Committee, Ying Yong, Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress and diplomats of African ambassadors, a total of 15 international science and technology cooperation projects with Africa were signed, involving many African countries. The cooperation projects adopt various forms of cooperation, such as platform co-construction, timely research and development, transformation of results and talent training, which will further promote the convergence and integration of international innovation resources in Africa and Hubei province.

Chairman of HIETC, Mr. Chen Tong and Angolan partner “Cloud” signed the “Iron Ore and pig Iron Import Cooperation Agreement”.

During the conference, HIETC as a window enterprise of Hubei Province, participated in the China-Africa Innovation Cooperation Forum, shared its “Going Out” development experience, and talked about Hubei International Economic Cooperation's market layout and future development direction in Africa. Mr. Chen said that through the discussion and exchange, the collision of ideas will further gather the consensus of China-Africa innovation cooperation, clarify the focus of China-Africa innovation cooperation, expand the results of China-Africa innovation cooperation, promote open innovation and mutual benefit.In the future, HIETC will give full play to the advantages of Hubei “Going Out” enterprises, build exchange platforms around the cooperation fields between Hubei and African countries,carry out various forms of promotion and exchange activities, and enrich economic and trade exchanges; further cultivate the African market,strengthen cooperation in engineering and construction,bulk trade,overseas warehouses and other fields, promoting the economic collaboration and integration and looking forward to expanding our cooperation with African countries,competing to be the “leader” of Hubei’s economic and trade enterprises!
